Children’s Ministry

Sunday School for students ages 3 through 5th grade is offered on Sunday mornings at 9:15am. The 2024-2025 Sunday School year concludes on June 15 and resumes in the fall. Age-appropriate Sparkhouse Lectionary lessons generally follow along with the weekly Gospel theme, which is reinforced during the worship service and sermon.

Please complete the registration form and return it to church, so we can be prepared for your child to attend. We look forward to helping your kids learn about the good news of Jesus’ love!

Lighthouse Youth Ministry

We offer youth activities and community service from 5th through 12th grade. Visit lighthouseyouth.org for more details.

Lighthouse Youth Ministry is a partnership between Living Hope, Christ The King, Parkside Community UCC, Grand Avenue UMC, and First Congregational Church UCC.

Hearts to Hand (H2H) - Currently meeting on 1st and 3rd Thursday from 10am-noon.

This is a group that comes together to knit and crochet hats, scarves, mittens, gloves, and prayer shawls to be donated to anyone who needs the warmth and prayer. However, you do not need to be able to knit or crochet to come join us.

 Monthly Ministry

Throughout 2025, we are seeking to grow in generosity as a congregation by focusing on one ministry each month. Our Monthly Ministries include a variety of local, national, and global ministries, all outside of our congregation.

It is important to note that no one is expected to give to all of these causes! Instead, by selecting a range of different causes, we will be able to catch a glimpse of the breadth of the work God is doing through the Church in our world, and that God will nudge you to support one or more of these ministries. Together as a church, we can make a difference in the world with the resources God has trusted to us, while blessing our neighbors.
